BEACH TIPS AND ESSENTIALS

Happy Summer guys! I know that everyone is looking forward this season, me too! And I am pretty sure that we are all heading to our favorite and happy place “the beach”. Who is not loving beach? Well, I am one of those who really love beach, simply because I love the sound of the waves,it brings different level of calmness. The warmth of the morning sun rays feel so good- Arrrggg!!! Can’t expalin the feelings!

Beach-ing to me is priceless. It simply a vacation get – away ( time to relax and be free). But before you will enjoy basking around, let me share to you the following:

 What’s in my beach bag?

 “How to take good care of your skin while at the beach.”

It is a fact, that you are more at risk to sunburn and damage from sun rays  if you are on the beach.

1. If you are an exfoliant user like me, discontinue using it days before hitting the beach (I’ve read it from a blog and it really it helps). I used to exfoliate before hitting  the beach and noticed that I am more and more sensitive to the heat of the sun, seems my skin is burning to death.

2. Do not forget to apply sunscreen as often as possible, every after 30 minutes or 1 hour even if you are under the shade. Remember, water reflects the light. The heat is everywhere.

3. Wear sunglasses and a hat while basking around for extra coverage for your face to avoid untimely aging.

4. After swimming, rinse of the saltwater before going home/ leaving the beach.

5. Apply moisturizers to make you skin look fresh.

These are my few tips that helps me a lot every time I go to the beach. It is very important to know the “do’s and don’ts” before enjoying the summer fun.

SUN-KISSED

Watchin’ over sunrise!

Hello guys! If you followed me on Instagram (thatfabteacher), I just came home from a beach trip. It was quick but fun. I sealed summer today simply because I will be the busiest  person in the next few weeks. How I wish I can go back to the beach before classes start, I doubt it!

 An island escape is a must this season. This is the best time of the year to wear bikini /tankini , bask around the beach and soak up in the salty water. Who’s not loving it?

We visited Samal island again after a month or two. If you happen to live or want to visit Davao City,this island is the best and sweet escape I can highly recommend  if you are a sun, sand and sea lover. Samal island  is surrounded by white sandy beaches and clear blue water, you can also do some water activities like diving, surfing, kayaking and etc.Here is a link  www.samal-island.com  if you want to know more about the place.

For this island escaped, ISLA RETA – a perfect destination . The place is quite far from the heart of Davao City, you need to take  a boat ride for an hour but you won’t regret every second of it. The place is still untouched although there were some improvements made compared the last time I visited, but still you can say that this beach resort is less developed.You can still connect to nature, which is very important for this trip since all we (travel buddies) ever wanted is to stay away from the hustles and bustles in the city. There were just right amount of people around – not too crowded.Well, if you plan to visit and want to experience something different you can bring or rent a tent if you choose to sleep overnight near the shore.Amazing!!

NEUTRAL + LEOPARD + TROPIC

HELLO LADIES! Let me ask you this ,  what is your favorite wardrobe color palette and why?

I love vibrant colors because it brings  a different sense of style but I always love wearing  neutral colors. They’re cool to the eye and give you the other level of calmness. Neutrals are effortless, they are not boring if you blend it well with other colors perfectly. They are fun to wear and can be stylish too -easier to style because all colors go with them. Fashionably speaking, neutrals are something that you should hoard in the closet because they will last long and are timeless.

My fave neutral color is beige,  not too flashy yet very appealing to the eye. I opted wearing my leopard hat and shoes ( all time favorite) to look more fashionable. My chunky gold  necklace completes my look for today.

This is just a happy day! 🙂

A MALAYSIA-N EXPERIENCE

Travel is in my 2015 bucket list but I don’t know if this is possible  since I am very busy working. It’s transition period in my work place and I feel like I need to do my best to help. So, let me take the liberty to share to you my past travel adventures.

It was 2013 of December that we decided to travel Malaysia-Singapore. It was actually my first time to travel abroad ( thank you nanay Marie for the ticket). I was with Big Mamu (my partner in crime/photographer)  &  niece. We visited as well my cousin and lived with her for a couple of days together with her family.

MALAYSIA  is known in its beautiful and diverse country with lots of highlights.It is an easy country to get around,people speak English, so no worries at all. I guess, the only problem was our means of transportation. It took us sometimes to catch a bus or taxi to go around the city since my cousin’s place is quite far from heart of the city. I had lots of first there like MRT and cable ride. It is cheap and lots of great food too.

If I can still remember, I need more RM so I have to exchange some of  my Php.

 KUALA LUMPUR was our first destination and hoping to climb the  famous PETRONAS TOWERS ( wasn’t able). We did spend the whole day roaming around the city and getting lost in the busy shopping centers. Since it was Christmas Season, the place was very crowded – tourist here and there.

PAVILION MALL  located at Bukit Bintang was also our other destination that day.  I was amazed with the huge food court ( FOOD REPUBLIC), serving different kind of meals of your choice from Asian to Western. This mall also houses lots of chic designer stores-  not so price friendly if your budget is tight . We did enjoy roaming around, eating and a   little bit of shopping. GENTING RESORT was our last destination in our MALAYSIA-N experience. This is found at the top of a cool and breezy mountain( GENTING HIGHLANDS) in Pajang Malaysia. It took us 45 minutes by bus and another few minutes by cable car to reach there. You won’t get bored because of the serene mountain view.They say that it has a “European” weather – truly is.As we reached at the top of the mountain  a thick fog surprised us and it was really cold up there. We took few photos outside the resort then roamed around inside. Genting has an indoor and outdoor theme parks, definitely you have a choice of your own where to enjoy. There is no enough word to describe the place. They  serve good / delicious food. BACK-TO-BASICS

 

 

 Hello guys! It has been a while, was too busy again with teacher work even if it is “summer break” – much needed indeed. I am the happiest if it is weekend especially Saturday. It is my day and I am claiming it.

Anyhow, I woke up early since it’s doctor’s appointment day of Big Mamu (taj, my partner in crime & photographer). I need to accompany her  in every step she is going to take before her operation – just a little sacrifice to return the favor. We arrived at the hospital early enough, so we intend to roam around to kill time. At exactly 10:30 a.m. the doctor arrived,she performed her ultrasound, waited for the result, and then off to another doctor again. It was little late in the afternoon we ate our lunch – was super hungry though.

Before heading back home, we decided to watch movie and took few photos of my “outfit of the day”. Nothing much special about this but I thought of sharing  since I love black & white combo ever. These  are basics in the closet, classic and timeless.I love to say that this whole look is a little sassy, right?Very straightforward and can be worn from day to night with  perfect pair of killer heels – gah! worth the pain. It is always a challenge for me to wear high heels because I don’t know how long I can sustain or hold up the pain. But cheers to my little secret, I always carry with me a pair of flats or slippers and you know what will happen next! 🙂  Pretty sure, you’re doing the same thing too.

Today,  I am going to share some photos of my so called “nail glam”. I am a kind of person who can’t start a week without nail color, I don’t know! It is always a part of my weekly routine and I swear, nail polish is one of my addictions.

Lighter Note: I have more than 40 nail polish bottles that I am keeping for years now.

I am quite picky when it comes to color choices since I am a teacher. I have to stay modest, teachers are “role model” and little kids always look up to us. So to make it safe, I am changing nail color twice a week- two times a week (whatever)! Hahaha!😊 Like, on weekdays…

Hello there!  I hope you guys had a wonderful Holy Week. How did you spend it? Where did you spend it?

Today,  I am going to share some photos of my so called “nail glam”. I am a kind of person who can’t start a week without nail color, I don’t know! It is always a part of my weekly routine and I swear, nail polish is one of my addictions.

HUES FOR SUMMER & MUST HAVES (pt1)

Bags.These are my go-to bags this season and I am keeping them for 3-4 years already and still in good condition.

Skirts are important in my closet and I am keeping them for a year or two i think.

Pants for summer – My favorite here is the blue one- I really have a thing on blue.

Ohhh! Sorry but I have to  include hats, they’re  summer essentials. And hey! It is good to keep your hats neutral in color. Don’t dare to put on colorful ones, it will turn your whole look upside down.

Paint.  I have lots of nail paint but these are my summer must haves. Why do I love this brand SAN-SAN ? it is cheap and does not chip easily. 

Color has a lot of definitions to me and if I am to define it in one word, I will simply say it is LIFE! The choices of color you are choosing definitely defines your life and how you live with it.

Hence, summer is here I am pulling off some of my favorites in the closet and thinking of using it again this season instead of buying new pieces. I will just simply mix and match and if in case I will be buying one, I will make it sure that it is something that I am going to keep for next summer. I generally buy things that looks good on me along with the type of color that defines me. Truly when summer strikes, I am thinking of cool hues – easy & breezy.

Note: Soft colors are the best for summer.

TALKING ABOUT PRINTS

Hello Summer! Can you tell me how hot in your place right now? Surely, bills are popping out high this season. It is always a big help if you’re  going to dress according to the season, it would be very nice if you put on a lightweight fabric clothes. Prints are in this summer, make it sure you are picking the right one that suits your personality and body type.

 Note: Lightweight fabric  stays you cool on a hot day especially this summer.

I am madly in love with the silhouette of my dress. It is fresh and girly – so me! 🙂  I love how it swishes back and forth as I walk. The comfort is exceptional and the prints are just perfect not to bold.To me, printed dresses look perfect if you pair it with  strappy sandals, just make it sure that you’re picking the right one. I suggest, if you plan an outfit of the day, plan it ahead of time to avoid disaster. Be playful and safe with your choices.
